Jessica Guthrie Photography has been officially open for business for a month now! Wow, the time has flown by! I have had my first Pike County clients, have three sessions planned for this week and am enjoying the lovely fall color popping up all over the area. Autumn is definitely here!
If you’d like to contact me for a fall session next week (when the leaves are scheduled to peak), you can send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or message me through the Jessica Guthrie Photography Facebook page. You can also find me on Instagram and Twitter. And don't forget to sign up for my free monthly newsletter... you'll get information like the stuff below before anyone else, which will be helpful if you're interested in a mini session, class or special event that has limited spots!
I plan to have my studio open on the historic courthouse square in Pittsfield by Thursday Nov. 3… because that's the night of the 7th Annual Girls Night Out event! I can't wait! From 4-8 p.m. I plan to take free portraits of you and your friends and then post them to my Facebook page for you to share (and maybe even use as your next profile pic!). But mark your calendars and keep your schedules free for an open house event the following week! You'll be able to tour the studio (If you haven't already, you can see the sneak peek "before" video here), enjoy refreshments, and check out my favorite images I have captured over the years. I will also have limited discounted sessions available (the lowest prices I will ever offer!), and an opportunity for you to win portrait packages! Stay tuned for details!
I am looking for freelance hair stylists and makeup artists who would like to partner with me for Just Gorgeous sessions. These professionals should understand the techniques needed for photography and be willing to learn new styles, if necessary. And in case you haven't heard the rumors, the pay is pretty good...
Thank you to those of you who shared my request for models with your friends and family. I have two lovely ladies who have stepped up to be the "model with a horse," and "model with long hair." I can't wait to show you the images from those sessions!
I still have a few concept shoots I would like to do and need YOUR help finding the perfect “models!” Models for concept sessions must sign a model release allowing me to use their images for advertising (I never sell my portrait images to third parties!) and will receive free digital images and discounts on image products showcasing the session’s portraits. Minors under 18 must have parental permission. If you are interested in being one of these models, please contact me with a photo of yourself (or child).
8 to 12-day old baby, boy or girl, for a Christmas-themed image. This child needs to be born the first or second week of November for a late November session.
Daughter, mother and grandmother, who would like a portrait session together. (This session will take place in January)
Want to give your special someone a gift they’ll never forget? Or maybe YOU are on your Christmas list this year… either way, a Just Gorgeous portrait session would be a wonderful way to celebrate! These sessions include hair styling and makeup application, and are stylized for each individual woman. These sessions range from contemporary glamour portraiture, 50’s pin-up, sexy boudoir… whatever session you have always dreamed of doing! Pamper yourself and let me show you just how gorgeous you are, inside and out!
These sessions celebrate the soon-to-be graduate! Let’s sit down and design the perfect photo shoot that shows off your personality and accomplishments! The stunning leaves of autumn will make a great backdrop… so book now! I have both standard portrait and Just Gorgeous portrait options available.
Start thinking about Christmas cards! A beautiful family session among the fall color would be fantastic… and I can create custom cards that suit your style! I also do snow sessions... if we happen to get an early snowfall (hopefully not!) you can truly have a “white Christmas” family portrait!
This month I created an online store for clients who would like to purchase the landscape images I captured during my time in Japan. Simply head over to the gallery shop and start browsing!
Want your face to look slimmer in selfies? Have the phone's camera lens about equal with your forehead, tipping it toward your face slightly. Be sure to look at the lens straight on when you snap the shot. Turning your head actually makes your face look wider (more cheek is seen), and looking at the lens makes it a more engaging pic for your audience. That move will slim the cheeks and chin and make your eyes appear larger. Don't have the phone too high, though. It will be obvious you are looking up, or make it look like your head is too big for your shoulders (yikes!). Take a few practice shots... that's all you should need to perfect it!
So you made it all the way to the bottom of this!? Whew! Thank you for your dedication! Be sure to join my email list to ensure you get the latest news and first crack at limited portrait sessions… there is one for Christmas coming up soon!
